Report On Housing Options For People With Disabilities: An International Research Project Conducted in Denmark, United Kingdom, USA and Canada.

Author: McCrudden, A.
Year: 1998
Type: Report

Abstract:

The aim of this project is to identify opportunities in housing provision and the different housing options available for people with disabilities. The research must be considered within the different taxation, social, welfare and political environments that operate in the various countries visited. These differences determine the level of funding to housing provision, the type of housing options available and ease of accessing housing for people with disabilities. Each country and subsequently individual agencies have their own priorities, with programs and funding directed to these. However, what was uniform across most countries and agencies visited, is that demand for supported accommodation or accessible housing exceeds supply.
