With the present increase & change in the structure of the aged population, welfare organizations must restructure & rationalize their services so as to become: proactive; based on human rights; grounded in an ecosystem approach; & aware of the need for multidisciplinary & collaborative service provision. Ways that the principles & practices of social work case management can be useful in administering welfare services are discussed, focusing on assessment, resource identification, linking services to clients, & monitoring service delivery.
