Mandatory slip resistance requirements in new buildings

Author: Bowman, R.
Year: 1999
Type: Web Page

Abstract:

Discusses the current requirements regarding slip resistance standards that the ceramic tile industry should be aware of and the proposed amendments to the Building Code of Australia with new slip resistance standards. A failure to provide a slip resistant floor surface in a new building may now contravene the Federal Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA). Investigates what is a slip resistant floor surface and where they are required.
