Learning how best to live with multiple slip resistance test results

Author: Bowman, R.
Year: 1999
Type: Web Page

Abstract:

Although the inclusion of four slip resistance test methods within the ISO ceramic tile standard is causing manufacturers cost concerns, their adoption is necessary to trading internationally. A bonus is that multiple tests should provide a better definition of a productメs inherent slip resistance. However, a multiplicity of results can also create confusion. Thus appropriate guidance, including a recognition of any limitations, must be provided if the standard is to be of optimum benefit. The variability of the ramp and pendulum test methods may be a potential concern.
