Abstract:

The Canadian Hearing Society, a nonprofit charitable agency provides a wide range of health care and social services to the deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people to promote their independence. This agency has successfully developed and implemented videoconferencing using broadband Internet Protocol technology, thus reducing the isolating effects of hearing loss and linking consumers to mainstream services.
