Abstract:

No single home modification approach can address all of the consumer's needs, wants and desires. It is essential to consider the perspectives of the consumer, occupational therapist and builder for a safe modification that promotes the specific person's function. CASPAR ( Comprehensive Assessment Survey Process for Aging Residents) can be used to streamline the services of home modification professionals in conjunction with the consumer. It is especially useful in areas that lack trained home modification providers but where local builders are available to construct or install recommended modifications.
