We are seeking to understand the needs and preferences of people with touch based sensory issues in relation to public building use. The goal is to help make public buildings more accessible.

What is the “Towards Design for Neurodiversity” study about?

We are seeking to understand about the way sensory impact of buildings might impact how a range of neurodiverse people use public buildings.

Do I have to take part in this research study?

Participation in any research study is voluntary.

Read the Participant Information Statement and Consent Form and project flyer carefully (ask questions if necessary, see contact details below). You will need to download and install Adobe reader first; as they are PDF documents.

What are the possible risks or benefits in participating?

The risk to you is minimal.

We hope to benefit other Australians who are interested in the use of evidence based design to improve a wider range of neurodiverse people’s experiences when visiting public buildings, and to help building designers understand how they can make public buildings better  for neurodiverse  people.

What should I do if I have further questions about my involvement in the research study?

The study is being carried out by the following University of New South Wales researchers:
Professor Catherine Bridge, Dr Peter Kohane, Dr Simone Reppermund, PhD Candidate Ms Maximilienne Whitby

The person you may need to contact will depend on the nature of your query.
