New NCC Tutor for the VET sector

NCC Tutor is a suite of dynamic PowerPoint presentations in a module format that have been tailored to suit the Construction, Plumbing and Services (CPC, CPC08) and Property Services (CPP, CPP07) training packages that include competency requirements that relate to the National Construction Code (NCC) in the Certificate IV and Diploma qualifications.

The modules have been developed with the educator in mind and include engaging, ready-made presentations to incorporate into the classroom with activities for in-class discussion and assessment quizzes.

What NCC Tutor modules are available?

The first release includes 6 modules:

• Understanding the NCC
• Understanding the performance-based code
• Understanding building classifications
• Using NCC Volume One 
• Using NCC Volume Two
• Using NCC Volume Three

Up to 11 additional modules will be released in the coming months.

This resource, primarily for the VET sector, is part of the ABCB’s response to the Building Confidence Report which aims to support improving understanding and competent use of the NCC in the tertiary education sector.

NCC Tutor is specifically for use by educators from Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions and universities.
