COTA NSW’s Voices of Solitude report on loneliness and social isolation among older adults in NSW found that 11 percent leave their homes once a month or less, with 40 percent of research participants engaging in social activities in person less than once a month. These may be important factors for understanding how care providers, communities and neighbourhoods can better support older people to maintain or grow their social connections.
