We have recently relaunched the UNSW Liveability App for Android devices. The updated app can run on the latest Android-based phones and tablets, as well as older devices running Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and above.
The UNSW Liveability app is a free mobile application designed to give community members, especially people with disability, older people, and carers, greater input into the design, development and improvement of their town centres.
Community members use the app to submit photos, commentary and ratings of liveability features and services in their local area. These “audits” are uploaded and stored centrally on a database hosted at UNSW.
The collected data can then be mapped and visualised to provide feedback to councils so they can easily identify issues and trends that require remedial or pre-emptive action.
We designed the app to be easy to use. For example, adding a bus stop to the map of your local area can be achieved in 5 steps:
UNSW Liveability is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
A new version of DIYmodify for Android devices has been released that supports newer devices.
The DIYmodify app is a free app specifically designed for people with disability and seniors to do their own Home Modification. Many people find themselves wanting or needing to modify their home but are uncertain about how to do so or whether they are allowed to.
The app provides information and support for making changes to a home, for comfort, safety and easier living. It steps through decisions for five common Home Modifications including grab rails and handheld showers.
DIYmodify is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
