Factory homes are being designed to meet the needs of all generations in the USA
Published
17th October 2007
Minnesota Manufactured Housing Association on the Web at http://www.mnmfghome.org/media/designed.php announced that it is moving towards inclusion of "universal design" features in it's factory-built housing. Universal Design features on offer include bathrooms with a large turning radius, raised toilet, vanity with open knee space, and roll-in shower with handheld showerhead and bath seat. Kitchens also have ample turning radius, removable base cabinets, "D" handles and drawer pulls, and adjustable kitchen work surfaces.
Throughout the home are wider hallways and doors, lever door handles and easy-to-reach light switches, outlets and thermostats.
