Level 3 Advanced Home Modifications: The Whole Process

LEVEL 3

  • For health professionals who wish to further develop skills in a specific area of Assistive Technology (AT)
  • To prepare learners to prescribe AT for use with clients with more complex needs
  • Participants to become a reference point for other professionals

Learning Outcomes:

  • Increase understanding of DDA, BCA, AS 1428 & OH&S Act
  • Understand legal implications for therapists working in this field
  • Work through the ‘fitting and fixture’ selection process
  • Discuss and resolve modification issues with an OT & Architect
  • Gain confidence in reading and drawing architectural plans
  • Develop skills and confidence in completing a full OT report, and making recommendations for complex modifications
