Presented by the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI), this one day conference will explore the impacts of the pandemic on all aspects of the rental sector, as well as how Australia’s divergent residential tenancies laws influence the decisions of landlords. The conference will consider the future policy responses that are needed to enhance the rental market, and options for developing a national tenancy reform agenda.
The conference will feature two new pieces of AHURI Research. Lead researcher Professor Emma Baker (University of Adelaide), will present on the recently released research The impact of the pandemic on the Australian rental sector.
The second research presentation will be by lead researcher Dr Chris Martin (University of New South Wales), on research that will be launched at the conference looking at regulations, tenancy laws across Australia and factors shaping rental investment, culminating in options for developing a national tenancy reform agenda.
