Qld Home Modification Discussion Meeting

Objectives:

  • To provide an opportunity for networking with OTs and others  working in the building industry interested in home modification practice
  • To explore common practice issues
  • To share resource information and practice experience
  • To discuss strategic issues that need to be addressed by the Occupational Therapy Australia, government etc in relation to current strategic policy and practice issues

The speakers will include:

  • Andrew McGuire and staff from Masterlifts, providing an update on vertical lifts (stairlifts, platform lifts and waterlifts) for installation as home modifications in private homes.
  • Anita Volkert, National Manager – Professional Practice and Development from Occupational Therapy Australia National, providing information on the work of the OTA National Environmental Modifications Task Force. This will include updates on  home modification issues relevant to My Aged Care and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

 All are welcome including architects, builders, OTs, OT students, or members of the general public interested in these topics etc. The event is free and attendance certificates shall be distributed to attendees after the event.

Please note that access to the venue can only be accessed via the wheelchair accessible lift that is located in underground car park (lift closest to the bottle shop). The front doors to LifeTec Australia will be locked.
