NDIS Provider Forums NSW

The launch of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission in New South Wales from 1 July 2018 means providers are keen to know more about the structure of the new Agency and its approach to provider registration, complaints, quality assurance and other matters for which it will be responsible.

In order to help providers with that learning, and to assist them in preparing for the new national quality and safeguards system, NDS is partnering with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to deliver NDIS Provider Forums throughout New South Wales in May and June.

The forums include presentations from:

• The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission – The Commission will give an overview of their operations; the process for transferring provider registrations from the NDIS to the Commission; ongoing requirements of providers in respect of TPV (now called ‘certification’ for most providers); and measures providers can take to ensure compliance with the new framework.
• The NDIA – The NDIA will update providers on the impact on the 2018-2019 Price Guide of the Independent Pricing Review’s recommendations; the SDA assessment process and the interface with SIL; and preparations for participants entering their second, third and fourth years in the Scheme with a focus on ‘planning for plan reviews’ and provider accountability requirements (particularly for providers of capacity building supports like Support Coordination where reports on progress towards goal achievement are a requirement of the funding).
• The Commonwealth Department of Health, about the Continuity of Supports programs for people ineligible for the NDIS because they are over 65 in areas where this program will be rolling out from May 2018.
• FACS will also deliver some final messages about funding acquittals and arrangements post-July 2018.
